Financial Charges Office visits etc. are not covered by OHIP but extended medical benefits will often reimburse financial charges for consultations, treatments, orthotics, orthotic footwear etc. Private insurance companies often cover parts or all financial charges of a chiropodist ie) SunLife; Great West Life; ManuLife; Johnson Brothers; Coughlin etc; Green Shield. Chiropodists/Podiatrists are the only foot specialists that can assess; diagnose; prescribe; manufacture and dispense custom orthotics in Ontario.
